Psychotherapy and Counselling Experiences

Yunwei’s experience in psychotherapy (psychology and counselling) began in a women and children domestic violence support service, where she trained and worked as a child therapist. She proceeded to deepen her practice in child and youth mental health at a crisis and early intervention support service for over ten years.

With 15 years of interest, study, and practice in the area of family and relationship dynamics, developmental and humanistic psychology, Yunwei brings a holistic and compassionate lens to her work, with experiences gained from working in early childhood education settings, primary and high schools, community organisations, government-funded mental health programs, and private practices – supporting individuals and groups through a range of life stages and needs.

Yunwei tailors her therapeutic approach to the needs of each individual, drawing on a blend of talk and creative therapies. She adopts an open, warm, and empathic approach to therapy, offering a safe and respectful space where individuals are supported to feel heard, explore change, and grow resilience through collaborative therapeutic relationships.

To ensure the delivery of ethical and quality practice, Yunwei regularly consults with clinical supervisors in accordance with professional practice guidelines.
