I am a registered psychologist who deeply cares about helping adults of all ages, sexualities, gender expressions and neurotypes as they navigate various life challenges. I work with individuals aged 18 years and over with ADHD, Autism, anxiety, depression, relationship & attachment challenges, work or study related stress & burnout, trauma, adjustment difficulties, low motivation, low self-esteem, gender transitions, and grief and loss. I am passionate about working with neurodivergent folk (especially neurodivergent women) and supporting them as they navigate the various challenges that present as a result of living in a neurotypically designed world. I pride myself on creating a sensory-aware space and strive to provide neuro-affirming strategies. I am also able to provide couples & relationship therapy* with my training in the world renowned Gottman Therapy method.
Background, History and Experienced: I'm a CIS-gendered woman (she/her/hers) who identifies as a feminist. As such, I love helping all individuals (regardless of gender expression) break free from patriarchal pressures. I have been working as a psychologist in private practice for five years now having completed my Masters degree in 2020. For my Master’s dissertation I explored employee stress management and burnout recovery strategies and to this day consider myself an advocate for employee wellbeing. As well as my experience as a therapist, I have had previous experience in hospitality work, tertiary education positions, recruitment & selection roles and strategic HR roles. I am also a self-proclaimed nerd and I love to incorporate themes, scenes or quotes from various media forms (books, games, movies etc.) in my therapeutic approach to illustrate concepts, strategies or ideas. In my free time, I enjoy bike riding; gaming; reading; watching & reviewing TV shows, movies and theatrical productions; and creative hobbies such as journalling, painting, and crocheting.
Therapeutic Techniques: I am a compassionate psychologist who takes the time to listen and understand everyone’s unique situation, challenges and goals and I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet each individual’s unique needs. My preferred therapeutic method is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) but I may also draw from other evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), the Gottman Method, Schema Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) as needed. I practice neuro-affirming, gender-affirming, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care. I am a sex positive and kink-positive therapist.
