<image:title>Shawn Wang - Shawn Wang Clinical Psychologist & Organisational Psychology Registrar M.Psych (Clin), M.Psych (Org) Special Interests Anxiety Disorders Depressive Disorders Dissociative Disorders Disruptive, Impulse-control and Conduct Disorders Neurodevelopmental Disorders Obsessive-Compulsive and related disorders Personality disorders Trauma and stressor-related disorders Please note: Due to extensive wait times, Shawn is currently not accepting new referrals unless a prior arrangement or direct referral has been made by your treating psychiatrist, and a strong therapeutic fit has been identified. Even with a psychiatrist referral, there may be a wait of four to six months before an appointment becomes available. At this stage, Shawn is unable to accept new GP referrals. This will be reviewed in March 2026. We understand this may be disappointing, and we’d be happy to suggest alternative practitioners if that would be helpful.</image:title>
<image:caption>I am a psychologist with dual master's degrees in Clinical and Organisational Psychology. I am simultaneously seeking two endorsements through the registrar program and have completed an endorsement in Clinical Psychology. An endorsement of registration recognises that a person has additional qualifications and expertise in an approved area of practice. My work in clinical teams has led to the development of intervention programs that have attracted multi-million grants. I have also been involved in developing award-winning psychometric assessments that have been recognised globally for being innovative and best in class. I approach therapy as a dedicated space to prioritise your well-being and embark on a journey of self-improvement and discovery. This journey often necessitates embracing vulnerability, which can be uncomfortable initially. By nature, I am caring and sensitive, and my personality obliges me to connect with compassion and to listen with empathy. I am committed to creating a safe and supportive space to explore, understand and navigate life’s challenges with you or your loved ones. I value the therapeutic alliance as the cornerstone of effective therapy and believe in fostering a compassionate presence and connection through interactive sessions. The effectiveness of my sessions hinges more on how authentic I can be and how connected and supported my clients feel with me than on the type of intervention I adopt. I am a pluralistic therapist, drawing from multiple theoretical frameworks to guide my practice. My approach is relaxed and person-centered, fostering a collaborative process where you can steer your sessions towards your personal growth. Alongside being a psychologist, I am married to my supportive wife (whom I met in my “Neuroscience for Psychologist” class), a doting father to two little boys and a captive servant to two, four legged fur babies. Shawn accepts new referrals periodically to ensure consistent, dedicated support for existing and previously discharged clients. Priority is given to referrals from psychiatrists and cases with acute presentations.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I am a provisional psychologist and registered counsellor, currently completing a Master of Clinical Psychology. I bring over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across a range of clinical and community settings. I work using an integrated counselling approach that is tailored to each individual. I value being genuine, authentic, and present in my work, and aim to create a safe and trusting therapeutic space where clients feel understood and supported. I was born in Taiwan and moved to Australia during my teens. Adapting to a new culture, learning a second language, and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds shaped my interest in working with culturally diverse individuals and families, and continues to inform my therapeutic practice. I began my career as a women’s counsellor within a not for profit domestic violence support service, before moving into roles as a children’s counsellor. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience supporting children and young people experiencing life challenges, emotional distress, and crisis situations. More recently, I have worked in family services, supporting individuals and families navigating separation, relationship difficulties, and gambling-related concerns. As a mother of two energetic boys, I understand the complexities and pressures of parenting and family life, as well as the importance of maintaining healthy relationships alongside these demands. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and my much-loved four-legged companions. My therapeutic style is warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative. I work in a largely non-directive way and believe that each person has the capacity for insight and growth. I engage in regular clinical supervision as part of my professional practice and training. I provide therapy in English and Mandarin, and offer sessions in person and via telehealth.</image:caption>

<image:title>Anne-Marie Van Duin - Anne-Marie Van Duin Registered Psychologist B. Psych (Science) M. Psych (Org) Gottman Trained (Level 1) Special Interest Areas: ADHD (especially ADHD in women), work/career challenges, anxiety, relationship & attachment issues, women’s psychological wellbeing, relationship counselling* (Gottman Therapy), and stress & burnout.</image:title>
<image:caption>I am a registered psychologist who deeply cares about helping adults of all ages as they navigate various life challenges. I take a particular interest in supporting women’s mental health (especially those seeking help with ADHD, work-life balance, attachment or relationship challenges). I am a friendly and compassionate therapist who believes in the healing power of a gentle and compassionate hand. I work with individuals aged 18 years and over with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship & attachment challenges, work or study related stress & burnout, career issues, adjustment difficulties, low motivation, low self-esteem, and grief and loss. I am also able to provide couples & relationship therapy* with my training in the world renowned Gottman Therapy method. I completed my Master’s dissertation on employee stress management and recovery strategies and I consider myself an advocate for employee wellbeing. As well as my experience as a therapist, I have had previous experience as a tertiary educator and have worked in recruitment & selection and strategic HR positions. I am also a huge nerd and I love to incorporate themes, scenes or quotes from various media forms (books, games, movies etc.) in my therapeutic approach to illustrate concepts, strategies or ideas. In my free time, I enjoy bike riding; watching & reviewing TV shows & movies; reading; and creative hobbies such as painting, drawing, and crocheting. On weekends I enjoy frequenting the performing arts theatres to watch the latest Broadway shows or cozying it up at home playing video games or board games with my friends and family. Therapeutic Techniques: I am a compassionate psychologist who takes the time to listen and understand everyone’s unique situation, challenges and goals and I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet each individual’s unique needs. To do this, I draw from various evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), the Gottman Method, Schema Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). I periodically accept new clients. For appointment inquiries, please email me at anne-marie@storyhousetherapy.com.au *Note that couples & relationship therapy is not covered under Medicare.</image:caption>
